28-31th of January: International Comics Festival (Angoulême, France) 21-22th hell kitty of F

Now comes another report from a recent trip. A large and important journey, which took my career a big step forward. For dramaturgy sake, should I wait with great news to the middle of the report, so read on, please. I booked the train tickets to Hamburg, for there are more climate friendly than flying.
Well in Hamburg met my friend Dinah Kübeck me at the station. We have been friends for many years, through hell kitty many association Mangakai Lund. Dinah now lives in Hamburg, and let me handsomely sleep over at her. The station in Hamburg was adorned and nice.
Dinah pulled me straight to the evening open the bookstore, and I shopped until the German cartoon manga. Part of the German cartoonist I got hold of Robert Labs, Christina Plaka, Annike Hage, Judith Park, Anna Hollmann, etc.
Sternshanze, the area of Hamburg where Dinah lives, is known to be punk and student inhabited. She showed me around a bit and I caught a picture of this old opera house, which, when it was demolished reached decade ago, was occupied by punks, who finally got his way and today it is a cultural center, with rehearsal rooms including hell kitty
Ok, now this meeting, I had sent a copy of "A Song for Elise" to two German publishers, Tokyo Pop's German branch and Carlsen Verlag. The two issues yaoi / shonen-ai in the German market, so I thought they might be interested. And suddenly I get answers. From Tokyo Pop's CEO Joachim Kaps. They want to give it out, and we went directly into the bargaining! Dinah followed so with a tingly Natalia to their office, and in two hours we discussed the practicalities, compared the Swedish and German manga market and talked about how we saw on cooperation. Finally, we signed the contract and everything was cut and dried. In the autumn of 2010, "A hell kitty Song for Elise" (poss. Under a different hell kitty name) in the German manga market! Yay! I was so happy to be with Dinah at the meeting, it felt soothing ...
After such a meeting, Dinah and I trudged out into the German winter afternoon. We stuck to one of the Christmas markets, they also had a great Christmas! (This is probably the post in my blog that has the most Christmas trees, haha).
I'm still not fully aware of everything. This is quite overwhelming ... To finally have a big contract like this is really fun. Of course, I have the contract for "Meow!" on Kabusa books, but this means that I will be able to reach out to even more of my book "A Song for Elise". I am almost hell kitty in tears ... Thanks for all the support, my dear friends! And special thanks to Dinah Kübeck, who translated the letter hell kitty to Tokyopop when I sent the book, and that was a wonderful host in Hamburg, and to Axel Trumpfheller, who sat with me and translated and went through the German contract with me. ~ And then she throws his jacket over his shoulder, waving happily hell kitty say goodbye and turns jauntily on, to slowly wander into the beautiful sunset ... ~
Glückwunsch! But, dang ... Fall 2010? Why is it taking them so long? Looking forward to buy your book :) Will you be at the Leipzig Buchmesse or any other Germanic Such events (Animagic, perhaps?) Reply Delete
Thank you, everyone! To Maik: They want me to explain some old drawings, and make a new cover and color illustrations for the book. So that's why it wont take sometime. I will go to Leipzig with Alice, and hopefully to many more events During 2010, to Promote the book. Thanks for the comments, everyone! Reply Delete
